Athlete Mobility / Recovery

Athletes’ Potential and Plus 2 University has added a recovery and mobility session for
athletes looking to take their performance to the next level. One of the most overlooked aspects of
training is mobility and recovery but it can be what separates the elite level athletes from the people in
a tier below. So, what is mobility? What is recovery?

Mobility is not the same as flexibility. Mobility is your ability to control and generate force through a
joints full range of motion. If you lack mobility it can lead to not being able to get into certain positions
or not being able to generate force in those positions. This can lead to a decrease in performance and
lead to possible injury while training.

Recovery is a multifaceted part of training including nutrition, sleep, hydration etc. Nutrition, hydration,
and sleep are the most important areas of recovery, but soft tissue work, and muscle care are also
important. Soft tissue work helps promote recovery from heavy bouts of exercise. Utilizing these soft
tissue mobilization tools and techniques on off days and after workouts can keep you feeling fresh and
ready to have quality workouts every session.

Get the opportunity to work with and learn from Dr. Andrew Lengerich from Athletes’ Potential. Dr.
Lengerich has 10 years of experience working with Unites States Special Forces/Special Operations as
well as Olympic and professional athletes to rehab, prevent injury and maximize their performance.

This session will be focused on the following:

  1. Utilizing mobility tools to improve recovery.
  2. Flexibility to maximize range of motion.
  3. Mobility to improve your motor control and strength through a full range of motion.

Not only will you get the benefit of each session, but you will leave with a better understanding of how
to take care of your body. Get a chance after each session to talk to Dr. Lengerich and get your questions
answered about injuries you may be dealing with. Leave every session with homework to keep you
healthy and performing at the highest possible level.
